Five policemen pass away after terror attack in Pakistan

(MENAFN) Five police officers lost their lives on Tuesday when their vehicle was targeted in a terrorist attack in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to official statements.

The incident occurred in the Karak district, as stated by authorities. Condemning the assault, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi described the incident as an act of extreme brutality.

"Attack on security personnel is a clear act of barbarity by brutal elements."
He stressed that those responsible would not go unpunished, adding:
"The sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain, the state will respond with full force."

Following the attack, security forces were deployed in large numbers across the area to track down those behind the assault and restore security.
